BC Housing is a provincial crown agency that develops, manages and administers a wide range of subsidized housing options across the province. We are committed to enhancing and forging new partnerships with non-profit housing providers, the private sector, other levels of
government, health authorities and community agencies to develop quality housing for those with the greatest need.
Works in partnership with the Ministry of Health Services, regional health authorities, Canada Mortgage and
Housing Corporation, and non-profit and private sectors to create 3,500 new units under the Independent Living BC program (ILBC) for seniors and people with disability who have low to moderate incomes.
Administers subsidy agreements to more than 650 non-profit and co-operative housing sponsors who manage 33,400 units. Manages about 7,800 public housing units across BC. Provides rent assistance to about 15,100 households renting in the private market, including rent supplements provided under the SAFER program.
Provides administration and property management
support for 300 group homes and special needs residences across the province.
