The BC SPCA was created under the auspices of the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and has the powers to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty and to prepare cases for Crown Counsel for the prosecution of individuals who inflict suffering on animals.

CRITTERAID

A non-profit organization comprised of a network of people interested in providing a sanctuary for abused or abandoned animals. Animals taken in by the sanctuary will receive all necessary veterinary attention before being available for adoption. Organization is funded entirely by donations and fund-raising events.

St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program 

Dogs are known for their unconditional love, and contact with them has proven to bring great psychological and physical benefits to the elderly and the infirmed.

Our Therapy Dogs must meet our National standards for suitability and temperament. Volunteer handlers must also be Security Cleared. When qualified, the handlers and dogs are assigned to nursing homes or care facilities in their area.

Dedicated to the kind & compassionate treatment of all living beings.  Our programs include:  Humane education in the community, Fund-raising events designed to increase public awareness of both animals & human beings.

Animal rescue registry services, TRACS maintains a registry of people able to provide food and shelter for animals in the event of disaster (forest fire, earthquake).
