The OKANAGAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY
has been taking responsibility for writing and publishing the local
history of the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia,
Canada for over 70 years. The Society is made up of six individual branches. Each Branch has its own meeting schedule, historical emhasis and special projects, yet each Branch is connected to the Parent body Society by representation on the Executive Council.

A non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and assisting individuals to research and compile their own family histories. It operates a library of genealogical reference material in the Penticton Museum building.
Meetings held on a monthly basis at the Penticton Auditorium, with the exception of December, July & August.
Membership is available per year for single, or for couple/family.

LAUREL PACKINGHOUSE
Built in 1917 from locally manufactured Knox Mountain brick, it is Kelowna’s oldest remaining packinghouse and the City of Kelowna’s first designated heritage building. Used as a fruit packinghouse until the 1970s, it has been restored and reborn as a community center for arts and culture while at the same time maintaining strong ties to the Okanagan’s agricultural heritage.

SUNSHINE THEATRE
Founded in 1977 by Joan Panton, Sunshine is in its 32nd season, having started as a summer theatre.  A significant development was the opening of the Mary Irwin Theatre in the Rotary Centre for the Arts in 2002.  This 326-seat house is the performance venue for Sunshine Theatre.

There is no theatre building - just the great outdoors. Productions have been staged in nearly every corner of the farm - in a field, in the pines, in the barn or the riding ring.
